When the internet slows to a crawl in the middle of a busy day, the first instinct is almost always the same, blame the provider, and sometimes that's fair, but in a surprising number of Cayman businesses, the real problem isn't the connection coming into the building, it's what happens to it after it arrives, It's the cabling behind the wall.
Reliable connectivity feels invisible when it works. Payments go through, guests get on the WiFi, cameras stay online, staff move between rooms without a dropout. When it doesn't work, everything stops at once and everyone notices.

What "structured cabling" actually means in Cayman

Structured cabling is simply the organised system of cabling that carries data, voice, and often video signals through a building. Rather than a tangle of cables run ad-hoc as they were needed over the years, it's a planned, standardised network: cables of the right type, run along designed pathways, terminated properly, labelled, tested, and documented.

Do I need fibre, or is standard data cabling enough? It depends on distances, capacity, and what the network has to support. Most buildings use a combination. The right mix is a design decision best made up front.
