About the Role
Install, maintain and repair electrical wiring, equipment and fixtures in commercial buildings across the Cayman Islands. Work on construction, renovation and maintenance projects to deliver safe, reliable power, lighting and control systems.
Key Responsibilities

Install commercial wiring, conduit, lighting, panels, switches and power distribution equipment.

Read technical drawings to plan wiring layouts and equipment placement.

Bend conduit, pull cables and complete electrical and grounding connections.

Test systems, diagnose faults and repair or replace components.

Inspect installations for safety, defects and code compliance.

Coordinate with project teams, guide coworkers and advise clients or supervisors on electrical issues.

Complete daily digital time and material worksheets.

Maintain tools, equipment and company vehicles.

Carry out physical installation tasks, including trench digging and lifting materials.
Qualifications and Experience

Education: Minimum is high school diploma but preferred associate 2 year degree or trade school in electrical technology or related field.

Experience: At least 4-6 years of hands-on experience in commercial electrical wiring and installation; apprenticeship completion highly valued.

Certifications/Licenses: Valid electrical license or wireman license recognized in the Cayman Islands; valid driver's license required.

Other Requirements: Clean police records and valid work permit for the Cayman Islands (if applicable).

Testing Requirements: Candidates may be assessed using Cognitive Ability Tests, Numerical Reasoning Tests, Technical Aptitude Tests, and Personality Tests.

Working Conditions

Commercial construction, renovation and maintenance work across the Cayman Islands.

Outdoor conditions including heat, humidity and rain, plus noise, dust and electrical or equipment hazards requiring PPE.

Work in confined spaces, trenches and at heights exceeding 25 feet using ladders, scaffolds or lifts.

Extended hours, including early mornings, evenings, weekends and holidays, plus on-call emergency availability.

Daily travel between sites using company vehicles, with occasional office-based planning and documentation.

Physically demanding work involving bending, twisting and repetitive movements.
Physical Requirements

Repeatedly lift and carry up to 100 lb.

Stand, climb, bend, kneel and work overhead or in awkward positions for extended periods.

Work safely at heights, on uneven surfaces and in confined spaces.

Perform forceful wire pulling, continuous hand work and repetitive movements requiring sustained strength.

Distinguish wire colours and read fine print on diagrams and labels.

Work in extreme heat, humidity and outdoor conditions while wearing appropriate PPE.
